Happy Mother's Day!!!

Hi Friends,
Today I'm here with this beautiful card I recently made using some of my favourite craft supplies.

I started the card by stamping the flowers & leaves from Altenew's Persian Motifs stamp set on to a watercolour cardstock. For stamping I used Antique Linen distress ink as I wanted to try my hand on  no-line water colouring. This is my very first try on no-line water colouring technique. Once stamped I have used my kids unbranded watercolour pan set as I'm not into colouring. I have used shades of blue, green to colour the stamped flowers & leaves. In each flower I painted the alternate petals so I dont smudge the colouring. This way the outline of each petal is maintained even though it is no-line colouring and I could also create the depth effect.

Once the flowers and leaves were done I painted the background with shades of yellow. This further enhanced my flowers. I always wanted to try water colouring but used to hold myself as I have zero knowledge of it. But after finishing this card I'm confident enough to try water colouring again. To give a final touch to my water colouring, I splattered it with white and dark shade of blue. This gave a dimension to my colouring.

Now was the time to turn this painted artwork into a card. The sentiment used is from Winnie & Walter's The Big, the Bold & the Happy stamp set. It is stamped using Cobalt Archival Ink. Finally I added this coloured piece to a 4 3/4" x 6" white no card. To elevate the water coloured panel I have added 2 strips of navy blue cardstock on either sides of it. To jazz up the card I have added sequences matching the background from my stash.

I had a great time making this card and also I'm proud of myself for pulling the no-line technique so well in my very first try. I hope you guys too like it and do leave some love and suggestions in the comments below. Have a nice Day!!!

Love Gopi

Birthday Shaker Card

Hi Friends,

Today I'm gonna share a card made for a Birthday Club member. Coincidently this card was so perfect for the Festival of Colours - Holi.

I have used Brustro water colour paper and Nirmal Transparent Water Colours to create the background. I randomly coloures the paper using water generously so the colours can blend in to create new colours. Later set the colours with Heat tool.

After the background was created, I cut the 'HAPPY' and the stitched border using my Silhoutte Cameo. Adhered an OHP sheet from behind to the 'HAPPY' window. Stamped the Happy Birthday to you on all sides of the square window.

On the backside used double sided foam tape around the square window and filled it up with golden heart sequiences...

Finally stuck the entire piece to black CS. To finish the card added a red ribbon n bow at the bottom of the window....

 Love Gopi
